I Am Not A Liar

Daniel Garblik and Ali Vazin first began composing songs together while
attending Cornell University. Under the mentorship of David Borden (an
apprentice of the renowned Dr. Robert Moog), they found themselves
wandering into new sonic territory, influenced by the likes of Boards of
Canada, Eluvium, Stars of the Lid and Daft Punk.

Post-college, the two briefly parted ways and their creative output
ricocheted into various other bands & side-projects. But by 2006,
Garblik and Vazin both found themselves in Los Angeles and decided to
make a run at a full-throttled collaboration. Practicing in an old
industrial warehouse, the duo attempted to create a full, sweeping
sound with minimal musical hardware – eventually spawning I Am Not
A Liar.

Their music has been well-received, most notably via a creative
partnership with Project Moonshine, a non-profit movie production
company teaching film theory to high school students. Select tracks
have been prominently featured in Being Here and Coffee and Bikes,
two Moonshine movies that have recently made strong film festival
showings.

Signed to Future Stress Recordings in 2009, their self-titled debut-EP
spans four diverse tracks recorded over the past few years – a small
sampling of the growing arsenal they are continuing to amass.
