Jekai Soulspeak

A tenacious live DJ & performer, Jekai Soulspeak has appeared on stage with a diverse myriad of artists, from the LA Guitar Quartet to KRS-One. Hailing from Southern California, he is now -- nestled in his role as producer / composer -- launching a full-on MPC-riddled assault within Beijing's hip-hop community.

Building on the tradition of sample-based beats a la DJs Krush & Shadow, his self-titled debut LP reflects a cross-cultural absorption, influenced by modern Chinese surroundings (half of the album was composed in Qingdao, China; the other half in Los Angeles).
